The Exile Poster Project aims to confront a specific area of
injustice and oppression in Portland through the powerful medium of the poster.
The annual show, based in Imago Dei's 9th street gallery, will
feature passionate and personal work from Professional artists from throughout
the city. This body of work will be presented in a way that will incite action
within the city's art and faith communities, hopefully galvanizing those
communities to assist the city in its ongoing efforts to uphold the law. The
2011 show will focus on the commercial sexual exploitation of children.

(01.09.12 @ 11:34 AM)This is a charitable photographic event that brings all people
in the community together to have their portrait taken for $1. Each person will
receive a digital file of their photo to use anywhere online they decide. The
idea is to simply show that $1 alone doesn't have much impact but if we
combine everyone's $1 together then something beautiful can happen in someone's
life.
All dollars raised from the event go to the Imago Dei Community's
Change For A Dollar Program, which seeks to help families and individuals who
need help by providing money to them to help with their basic needs. In
addition to the event, there will be a gallery show this summer in downtown
Portland showcasing all the portraits/profiles taken from the event. Each black
and white photograph will be numbered and displayed together as a profile of our city.
The event date is set for Sat MAY 7th
1pm-8pm at Imago Dei Community gymnasium
1302 SE Ankeny St. Portland, 97214
Please stop by and support this event by letting me take your black and white portrait and put your dollar donation in the bucket. Everyone is welcome but please know that photos will only be taken of those two years old and above so tell everyone you know to come. I look forward to seeing everyone there.
Thank you Jared.

This year I was asked by Travis Rockwell to join him and his
skiing crew on their backcountry trip to Anthony Lakes in Oregon. About five hours
east of Portland, OR Anthony Lakes sits in the Umatilla National Forest
surrounded by lakes and high peaks. I met up seven guys total who love to snow
camp and ride in deep powder. For three days we hiked around looking for fresh
lines and nice photo ops. This place is amazing and is the perfect get away for
winter or summer camping. I love living in Oregon. I have to say these hikes beat me to the ground with
exhaustion but it was so worth it. My dog Zephyr also came along. He had a
stellar time playing with the other dogs in camp and running around the frozen
lakes like a wild wolf.
For my photo set-ups I used all natural light with a 16-35mm and
a 70-200mm hand held. I packed light, as my focus was to mostly ride and get
photos on the side, which is hard.

You and Zephyr were welcome additions to the party. Start thinking about next season's trip.
(03.30.11 @ 09:50 PM)Vans Custom Culture is a yearly art competition that started
last year to promote creative expression among youth culture while supporting
art in high schools across the US. Programs that support art in schools and
creative culture in the community is very important to me. I love what Vans has
done for the west coast and what they continue to do across the globe. They
inspire me to think past what I simply am and to open up that box of
possibilities and growth. Check out their site for more info. vans.com/customculture
